Diman R Lamichhane, MD
Diman R. Lamichhane, MD is our newest rheumatologist and we welcome him whole-heartedly as we feel he has so much to offer patients with his experience, kindness, and knowledge.
He was born in the beautiful and mountainous country of Nepal, home of the highest peak in the world Mount Everest. He practiced there until 2006, managing cardiac patients at the National Heart Center in the capitol city Kathmandu, and later manged a rural primary care clinic.
After moving to the United States, he completed a 3-year training program in Internal Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Lamichhane worked as a hospitalist in North Dakota for 4 years where he also mentored medical students. He completed his 2-year fellowship in rheumatology in 2016 at the Washington DC MedStar Hospital Center where he was highly regarded by patients and faculty. He moved to Eugene during the summer of 2016 to work with Dr. Maier.
Dr. Lamichhane and his family enjoy the outdoors and appreciate being close to the Cascade Mountains, the fresh markets, biking and being able to explore the West.
Our office is dedicated to educating the next generation of physicians and other providers. You may be introduced to medical students and physician assistant students from OHSU --the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon and pre-med students from the University of Oregon. We also mentor students from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific Northwest located in Lebanon, Oregon.
You will always have the option of private appointments without medical students.
Dr. Lamichhane has admitting privileges with three local hospitals:
